I was wondering if it is possible to sync two pcs together so they can share processing power and memory and if so how would i go about doing that

Here are the specs of my two systems

PC 1: Windows 2000
1.8ghz processor
512 mb RAM

PC 2: Dell Inspiron 500 Windows XP

Seti@home (http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/) and Folding@home (http://folding.stanford.edu/) are two entities that use a similar process wherein they pass on computing tasks to your computer, over the internet, to help in their research. This is somewhat different from setting up two of your own computers, say through your home network, to share resources but basically the same concept.
I know when I was in tech school and through a couple of threads here it was discussed, but that was a while back and sorry , I just can’t recall the details at the moment. There may be others who will remember and have better info ;)

EDIT: OH Yea, Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif

The concept is usually "grid computing", you have computers all working on the same task.

There's a way to do it with Linux called clustering but with Windows I don't know. You may be able to find something some were on windows.
