i got another pc and gives me this error when i turn on the pc in the morning
i dont get it every day, maybe once every 3 days or once a week.
cmos chek sum error press f1 to enter setup.
when i go into setup and load defaults and save changes it then boots up ok
for a few days !
iv replaced the cmos battery on the motherboard just to see if it would fix it but it did not!

any suggestions of what i can do now?

If none of those apply, then perhaps a virus [on the HDD?] is changing/corrupting your BIOS's configuration settings held in the CMOS.

Perhaps you should have your software checked for infection at the "Applications and Security" forum?

Or else you could reset your BIOS settings, then [for some days] only boot/use Knoppix from a live CD [don't boot the HDD or any possibly infected floppies] to see whether the problem doesn't return whilst doing that.

iv just formated the harddisk 1 day ago and did a clean install
i dout its a virus but il scan the pc to cheak for viruses
