When I try to defrag my whole computer freezes up, it also happens with scan disk sometimes. I always have to reset because everything is locked up. Please help!

I assume you are running scandisk and defrag in windows. You might reboot in dos mode, I assume you are using winders 95/98. If you reboot into ms-dos mode, and type in scandisk /all, it will run scandisk, and then will offer a surface scan, which you should do. Then, once it is done, type in defrag, and run it. Make sure you are booting into ms-dos mode, not just running an ms-dos prompt screen from within windows. If those programs run fine but your system is still freezing up, give us all the specs on your system and we can help you further.
