I have an older 233. When i turn it on nothing shows up on the monitor and no error beeps. I have tried 4 differnt video cards, 2 monitors, new mother board and different ram. I hear the hard drive running, i hear the memory checking. but nothing shows on monitor. one monitor says signal error. dont know what to do now. can the cpu have went out. but wouldn't bios still show up on the monitor. and still it has no error beeps.

It could be the cpu, I don't know exactly what beeps when, I will by the time I get my A+ cert, but I haven't really started studying yet... I can tell you this, if the power supply isn't supplying enough power, or if it is not working right, it could cause that. Maybe your cpu and stuff isn't getting power. Might try swapping those. If you have extra mobo, do you have extra processor, or know someone who you can borrow theirs? I know, odd request, hey Jimmy, can I borrow your processor real fast, I want to do some analysis on my not working computer... lol.

Sounds like motherboard or power supply. My first guesses, video card and monitor, have already been ruled out...see if you can get your hands on either to test with. But try not to get someone to pull one out of their working, primary machine...hehe

Just also realized, might be memory too, but I'd doubt it...Motherboard is my best guess..

If you had everything...Where would you put it?
