I have several (about 40) 5.25 inch doble density floppy's which I would like to transfer to current storage format such as CD Rom
Do you know about any place I can send them for this purpose. I do not longer have a drive that reads 5.25 inch floppy's diskettes.
Thanks

I have an old 5.25 DD floppy drive in my old parts box. I haven't used it for probably over 10 years. Although it worked when I removed it from one of my old computers, I would not be able to guarantee its working condition. I would be willing to sell it for the cost of packing and shipping plus $5.00.
If you are interested, please PM me for name/address, etc. and let me know where you are located.

Perhaps worth trying eBay (http://computers.search.ebay.com/5-25-floppy-drive_Computers-Networking_W0QQ_trksidZm37QQfromZR40QQsacatZ58058Q QsatitleZ5Q2e25Q20floppyQ20drive).
Getting other people to do it for you is likely to be fairly expensive.

And this is not a classified ad or trading board... Please do not post such ads again...

Budfred,
I don't think Tommy was trying to post a classified.
I know Tommy does not know where the OP is located, and how that might be an issue.
Tommy, You can list your spare stuff on Craigslist or EBay and direct the OP to those sites but post no direct link to your stuff here on the forums.
chelina50,
Paul Komski and I both are suggesting you search for someone's old 5.25" drive on those sites, but you do want to be smart about secure payment whenever dealing with unknown parties to buy stuff like this.
Back when these were being used, no one understood the 5.25 floppy would ever become obsolete.

Budfred Please cool it. I'm just trying to help out someone with a problem. Isn't that a purpose of this board?

I am sorry if my comment seemed harsh... My point is that we have a consistent policy of not allowing buying and selling on this forum... If you wish to send an old piece of equipment for shipping to help someone, that is not a problem... If you want to make a little money on the deal, it moves into another category... I appreciate that you want to help and I hope you appreciate that we don't want this to become a trading forum...
