I had a problem with my test pc in that it wouldn't accept a drive other than the original without errors. With the test drives installed as slaves, the Dell has no problems. Now I am trying to remove a second partition on a 40G drive. There are two 20G partitions from what I can see in FDISK and I want to convert that to one 40G. I made the choice to go to the second drive, no problem there. However whatever choice I make after display, I get the message of no drive found. I started with trying to delete the logical disk drive first. Is this incorrect?

You should be able to delete (and create) partitions with fdisk but you have to choose between, DOS, Non-DOS, Logical etc. Partition manipulation is much easier with BiNG (in my Sig) or with GParted a Linux Live CD Partition Magic Clone (http://gparted-livecd.tuxfamily.org/).

Thanks I think I've been staring out at the blizzard for too long. I was looking farther down on the page! Found it now.
