I recently installed a second hard drive. Both drives share the same IDE cable and I'm pretty sure the 8.4, my original, is set to Master and my new 15.3 is set to Slave. However, when I boot the system, I get a long beep followed by another long beep...and nothing loads unless I press the Restart button. Then, everything loads properly. Why is it not conducting a correct power-up test? Is it because of my drives? When I go intot he CMOS setup, everything looks normal. Is "auto" supposed to be set for both drives or a number? Please help...

Could be that your BIOS can't properly handle the drive over 8.4 GB, a common problem.
Does the larger drive work if you try to boot the system with just it in there? If so, it's a conflict with the other drive, some sort of configuration issue.

Post some info about the system and maybe we can tell you more about it. I think ixl pegged it. If it's not Pentium II or higher, you're probably dealing with a drive size limitation.
