I was qondering if a 9600 or a 8800 fits there evan thow the end of the memory slot is almost flush with the edge of the pci-e 16 slot. Also: dose dual slot (aka 8800gts) mean it needs 2 pci-e 16 e slots, or just another opening & srew?
PS. sorry for the bad drawing, I cant find my digital camera

alow me to rephrase: do the nividia 8800xxx,9600xxx cards have anything right(looking from the front of the pc) of the pvc
One of the problems is, exactly how far do the hold down tabs for the memory slot stick out...
The only sure way, short of googling your motherboard with the card of choice as a filter, is to actually try it.

The last three video cards I have bought, (6800GS, 7900GS, 8800GT) have all been right under the memory slots on two different board. So close I would actually have to remove the video card in order to remove memory from the slots. Fortunately you rarely need to remove memory. ;) But if you do have to take it out just take advantage of it and clean the card really good. :D
The board manufacturers know it is really close but they made it so it would fit. Take note that the video will actually be turned upside down in the system. Therefor all the bulk of the card will be going down as well and the extra slot that the card requires will be below the card.
