When I start my computer it begins to come on and then it will shut down before anything comes on the monitor. It is not a new computer, I have been using it daily for about two years. I was in the control panel changing the font size, when it prompted me to restart I did so, however it did not restart, just shut down and now I am unable to run it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the problem? Thanks

My first guess would be heat.

Set it up with the cover off and maybe a small fan blowing into the case, see if it boots. Then take the cover off and clean out all the dust. Use compressed air, form a can not a high pressure air compressor. You can get them at Radio Shack. I use a camera brush, or a small paint brush, but be careful not to bend any electronic components or knock any jumpers off...
