This is probably a stupid question but I cant fiquer it out. I have cable connection on my computer. When I try to use my fax it says that the modem is already in use. Im not sure what to do because it is a cable connection, not my phone line. Please help!

Try [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Del] and see what's running in the background, keep Explorer and Systray, Rundll and rundll32 if they're running, everything else can go. Use End Task, and highlight the application you want to shut down. Might be something running that's accessing it, even though you're running cable. And the fax might still use the modem, I'm not sure about that one...
