When I turn on my Dell Monitor (4 yr old) it turns on for two seconds and then goes black. IF I then make a turn off/on again, it happens again -works for 2 sec then goes off. What can be the problem? is it worth repairing it ($ wise) or is it the time to buy a new one? Thank you.

First thing, try the monitor on a different machine...t could be a video card problem instead of a monitor problem.

When it turns on, do you see anything or is it just black?

Are you referring to your computer as your monitor? The button on your picture screen or your tower?

1. I unplugged the monitor from the PC, so,no video card is probably not involved.
2. When I turn it on I see the messge on the screen (like choose colors, the regular one. Then in a second r two - black. Then I turn it off - on, and it repeats itself.
