Hello All, a friend has just got a H.P.Compaq Presario SR5102 AN computer with Vista home basic and a compaq 19'' flat monitor.
There are no speakers with this machine and the audio cable plugs directly into the monitor. Everything seems to be going ok except the sound from the monitor speakers is very low and I can't get it any louder.I have put all sliders in the pc on maximum and also adjusted the volume control in the monitor to max but still no volume. I have put a set of old speakers on the PC and it works perfectly.
Any clues as to the fixing of the monitor audio problem.

check the cables, sometimes if the plug is not all the way it, you can get a max of half of the volume. Speaker cables can do strange things when plugged in. there are also about 5 different places in XP that controll vollume, you may want to go through the Vista control pannel and check that isn't the case for the computer. You can also choose to have the computer set up for different speakers, make sure it's set up for the right enviroment.
