So my girlfriend recently bought a new dell 968w printer to get her through grad school and asked me to set it up for her. Now this is all done and easy, and works so far by USB cable.
I see in the documentation that it supports printing via Bluetooth but only for PDA's, cell phones, and other forms of mobile devices. So I'm inclined to ask... why won’t it accept Bluetooth print jobs from a pc?
Is there a difference in signal? and if so... does anyone know of a program or work-a-round to make it look like I’m sending the print job from a Bluetooth-enabled device instead of the laptop.
It seems to me that being able to print via Bluetooth would be a great addition for a printer/laptop combo. I find it silly that it only accepts a signal from a mobile device. Has anyone heard of this before or dealt with it? Are there any work-arounds to get it to print via Bluetooth or should I stop trying to be super geek and tell her to hook it up to the USB cable every time she wants to print?
