Didn't really know where to put this one. If Mods move well that's ok :)

Mrs PW wants me to remove YARDS of Broadband cable from the front room, since we had building work done to create a new office. She's right ; it's in the way and really we don't want it tapped all round the skirting boards.

All it needs is to be shortened.

Only trouble is I don't like the look of the 'coax' cable connector that fits into the back of the BB modem.

The builder reckons it's a 'one fit wonder' whereby you cut it off, chuck it away and fit another. I'm not so sure.

Firstly, I can't seem to find this connector anywhere. I've tried all the usual places ; Maplins, RS, etc, even e-bay.

Secondly I can't remove the damn thing.

What does it look like ?

Good question. Well it's doesn't appear to an old coax connector or an F type.
It's a brass coloured nut come screw with what appears to be a thin blue clip on the end.

I can't put a pic up as I can't find one - the whole point of this post !

Will photo the thing later for you guys to see if you recognise it. To know what the damn thing is called would help....

I think this is the correct type of connector, though it looks a little different to my own Telewest/Virgin connectors.

I've only just seen this response, thanks Sylvander I think this must be the one I have.

No, the reason I didn't check replies on this fred was because router troubles were of more urgent need........but once again thanks with my apologies.
