Shouldn't have affected CPU at all, or any other pc component for that matter. Dunno about your cd drive... But definitely turn off pc, unplug power from wall, ground yourself, open case, and take out the cd drive. Try to fish out that sticker...your cd drive will be much happier without it.
oh...that's only assuming if you have a desktop pc...
You can remove your laptop cd tray, but it might not be easy...

Don't know much about the internals of the cd drive, and even if I did, there is no way I could tell you for sure if it will cause any malfunction. It would depend on the sticker and where it is located in the drive. All I know is it can't be good for your cd drive and any future cd's you put in it.
Can you open and close your cd drive without hearing any strange noise? Can you see the sticker and take it out without taking apart the cd-drive?
Here's a guide on completely taking apart a cd-drive. In your case, you don't want to take it completely apart.... But the whole thing looks difficult so it might not be advisable until you have someone knowledgeable look at your drive.

hmmm well it didnt sound anything strange while opening and closing the tray...so i guess its ok for now??
About the worst thing that can happen is that the sticker will come to rest on the laser...and no, no Star Wars special effects here, the drive would just stop reading disks...

Speaking of star wars, can't wait for the clone wars to come out :p

Back to the cd-drive, mjc is probably right, but I've come to distrust cd-drives ever since my old one broke a valuable cd into a dozen pieces while it was running it. I always made sure my drives are perfect from then on... guess cd technology didn't fix everything that was bad in floppies as they claimed...

Like jerkto said, I would be cautious about putting in your favorite cd's into that drive. last thing you want is to scratch them. What type of drive is it? A CD-RW? a plain CD-Rom drive? Cause a OEM DVD-burner can be had on Newegg for $30 with shipping.
It wasn't the drive's fault the CD broke...it was the CD. 99.99% of all CD disintegrations are caused by microfractures around the hole in the middle of the disk.
Now, scratching it...a very real possibility.
But if the drive is out of warranty, they are easy enough to pull the covers off and remove a sticker...
