I have a problem and no one seems to ever heard of this. I have a Hp C6180 printer. We I turned it on it displays a # on the front. The # is B94B6074. I cannot get beyond this error # and my PC will not recognize the printer. I contacted Hp support via web chat and they inform me that the printer is broken and I need to purchase a new one. The problem is this printer is only a year and half old. Frankly, that is absurd that I spent $200 on a printer and now its broken. Does anyone know of this error or heard of this #? Please help!!!!

How is the printer connected?

Did you find out what the error code is referencing? The printer part? The scanner part? Fax?

Is it plugged into at least a surge protector?

The problem sounds like it is either on the main circuit board (controller or interface) or 'power' related...both of which are common problems after a severe surge.

Yes it is plugged into a surge protector. It does seemd to be power related because right above the error # is a picture of the power button. You know, the circle with a small line thru the top? So, any recommendations?

Yeah, replace the surge protector and get a new printer...in all likelihood one of the components on the power board has fried. I recently had a scanner that after a surge ended up with an extra crispy voltage regulator. It's main problem, the scanner head was no longer powered, so it errored out.

One of the main problems with all in one units is that if one part croaks the whole thing is now a boat anchor.
