I have a Dell Inspiron 1501. Here is my problem.

WhenI turn the computer on, it will not turn on. Instead, the LEDs which normally show that the computer is on and battery charging will blink a few times, and then nothing. It is by the grace of God that it eventually will turn on. I cannot figure out a pattern to get it on when it does this, instead having to rely on chance. At first it did this every so often, now almost every time. I am afraid to turn it off now.

What could be wrong?

I have tried using a new battery and a new cord and it hasn't helped.
