My LCD display quit on my Inspiron 1300. I thought well it's the inverter. I got the new part and installed it and it lasted about 4 hours and now it has gone blank again. With the new inverter when I first turn on the computer it is a little red but then goes to regular color within a few seconds. Now after the 4 hours I get video for just a few seconds and the screen goes black. I can shut the lid and open it and I get video again for a few seconds. If I hook up my CRT monitor to the laptop the video is fine. The onboard diagnostics say that all the video components pass the test. Do you think the back lights are going bad? I am wondering why it would work okay for a few hours then stop again. Any Ideas?

From the research I have done the reddish pinkish color when I first boot the laptop indicates a back light going bad. I have received that part and am about to start taking the LCD apart very carefully and install the new back light. I'll let you all know how this goes.
