I have an old 13" Daewoo TV (with the VCR still in it...definitely not one of those LCD types) that's gone haywire after an electrical spike. We had to have our power turned off for an outlet to be changed earlier, and ever since, my TV's been...well, gone.
It was plugged into a surge protector, but perhaps, it was only sufficient for a low number of joules.
When I press the power button on, it makes a loud whine (almost a "moo"), then proceeds to make persistent popping noises every 2-3 seconds until I unplug it. I tried using a different outlet, sans surge protector...to no avail. No video whatsoever. The power light is on properly, and the noises commence as soon as it is plugged in and pressed "on". There is a loud "moo" when simply plugged in, too.
Albeit, it is 13-years-old or so, I've certainly gotten my money's worth out of it, but...I'd rather not put out the money for a new one if I can extend the use of this one for even awhile longer.
