hey i think i connected the usb port in a wrong way and then plugged in my nokia 5310 to it...the phone shut off and the computer said something was wrong with the attached usb device..i removed it corrected the connections and then plugged the phone in again and since then the phone recognises that it has been connected to a PC but the Pc doesnt recognise my phone.I have tried many PCs but the result is the same. What do you think is wrong??How much may it cost to get the phone repaired??:(

I split your post to its own thread, because your problem has absolutely nothing to do with a several month thread about hooking up the USB incorrectly on your motherboard, even if that is how your problem started. Your problem is your phone...and unfortunately, it is probably cheaper to replace the phone than attempt to have it repaired.

Repair costs can run to several hundreds of dollars, especially since the phone is probably going to need a mainboard transplant...which in essence is going to give you a new phone. Phones are very proprietary critters and repairs are usually in the nature of replacement of main parts as opposed to actually repairing anything and the parts to do so are very costly.

A quick look around seems to indicate that phone is running under $200 on the open market (just phone no contract/etc)...I'd guess it would be about $200 for the mainboard and 3 hrs or so of 'time' for the replacement to be done in the shop...at between $40 and $65 / hour.

Have you checked to connect with another data cable ?
