Hi there.. I'm trying to fix one of my computers that has a mouse problem. The mouse is not working and I found out that the "Mice and other pointing devices" is not listed in the device manager.

I was installing a usb driver for my phone, rebooted the computer and this is when the problem started. I also tried a new mouse and used system restore but still no mouse.. any suggestions??? Thanks!! Win XP

What version of Windows?

Hi there.. i'm running xp media

Go into Safe Mode and uninstall the USB, Mouse and Pointing devices and any "unknown devices".

Also, if the problem mouse is a USB one, try a PS/2 mosue if you machine has an available PS/2 socket for a mouse.
