I have an ATX platform PC and recently my power supply fan died so I got it replaced at the store I bought the case. However I think they gave me a power supply for AT platform. It has a power outlet for the monitor and the fan is blowing out and it is on the back and it does not have a turn on/off switch. Is this a power supply for AT computers? If so can it give any harm to the PC?

AT power supply will have two plugs for the main power going to the motherboard, ATX has one. AT power supply won't plug into an ATX board, and vice versa. Therefore it can't hurt your computer...you can't plug it in if it's the wrong one.

Both supply the same voltages, +5, -5. +12 and -12VDC. They do it with diferent plugs though.

The fan can be turned around in the mount bracket to make it blow the opposite direction if it's originally installed different than you need it. It's attached with 4 screws, just remove and turn it around. Be careful inside the power supply, it has capacitors that can store a high enough charge to ruin your day. And they hold that charge for several days.
