Hi. I've just reinstalled Win XP on my Dell, using their reinstallation disk. Computer is a Dell Dimension 3000. Monitor is a flat screen. Going to Display properties > Settings, and first I'm unable to change the resolution from 640x480 and the color quality is stuck at 16 Bit.
I downloaded the driver from Dell but when I go to Advanced > Monitor, the next step "Properties" is grayed out. So how can I get to update/install the driver? Thanks for any tips.

You need to update your graphics card driver, not your monitor. Go to Dell's support site and type in your product tag (the only good thing I like about Dell) to see a list of available drivers. In case your sound doesn't work either, you can get them from there too.

Thanks. I will try that. That's right my sound doesn't work either! I'll let you know how I get on.

I'm getting there! Downloaded the drivers as you suggested and I have audio now. The Display is good but the fonts and icons are too small. Choice of colour quality is only 16 or 32 bit.

Thanks very much for your help. I got those drivers from Dell using my product tag and the display and audio is fine now.
