i have an sis5571 chipset m/b which has 2x sdram & 2x 72pin memory slots. I have a 32mg sdram 100mhz chip which i have tried, but it only reads as 8 mg. I'm wondering if there is a jumper setting for the m/b that can rectify this as not even the modem can work on 8mg. The sdram chip has checked out ok. i am searching the web for a manuel for it but cannot find one as i am not sure of the actual m/b brand!

First, it's not a good idea to try and use 72 pin SIMM and 168 pin DIMM or SDRAM at the same time, if that's what you're trying to do.

Second, some motherboards will not use double sided memory, only single sided.

Third, sometimes you have to go into BIOS, exit and save changes, without changing anything, just to let the BIOS know the new RAM is there.

A motherboard manual might help too...
