I am trying to connect a keyboard to my laptop for easier use but it will not work. to start off the keyboard is connected with a ps2 connector, so i got a ps2 to usb connector and it connects properly. however when i plug it in it does not load the device correctly and the keyboard does not work.

Do i need a driver for the connector or a driver for my keyboard? any ideas of how make this work, i have large hands and it is not always easy to use the small keys on the laptop.

You don't say which operating system but generally speaking such adaptors work fine without any need for special drivers.

A USB keyboard (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=usb+keyboard&x=0&y=0) might be the best answer.

I have found that the adapters do not always work in some old systems. When I say old I mean like P3 era and older. Though the PS2 to USB adapters seem to be more problematic than the USB to PS2 adapters.

In newer systems I have never had an issue with an exception of a rather proprietary system.

Easiest solution is to leave out the need for an adapter and get a USB KB.
