Hello, 1st time poster here.

So, I'm planning on upgrading my computer. Since i doubt anyone would buy my PC, i decided to just upgrade it little by little.

My computer is an Aspire M5641 by the way, its a multi-media pc, not really for gaming.

I'm an enthusiastic gamer. I was running on a 9300GE (which was just c**p) and upgraded to a GT 240.
My mobo is quite small and i cant put those high-end 9 inch GPUs because there are capacitors in the way. I made do with what i have, so that's why i got the 6 inch GT 240.

So i've been thinking. If my motherboard is the one blocking me from upgrading, then i should change it.

I'm planning on getting a MSI P43-C51 LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX motherboard.
I've seen good reviews on newegg.com so i think its good enough.
I do plan on upgrading my Q8200 but maybe later on.

I also plan on getting a Cooler Master 690 II Advanced because my stock case just doesn't cut it. I do plan on upgrading my GPU to a 5770 vapor-x so this will give me the space to do so.
I'm also getting a Corsair 550VX 80 PLUS certified because my stock 300W doesn't give me the space to upgrade later on.

So i have a few questions:
Do you think the upgrades i chose are okay?
Do i need to buy a new OS because my Vista Home Premium is OEM. ( I do plan on getting a windows 7 64-bit later when i have the money, as well as 2x2GB G.Skill RAM)
Do i need to change anything else with this upgrade of mine?

Any thoughts, suggestions and help is very much appreciated.

I'd say it's best to buy a new one. The cost to upgrade might be nearly as much as a new PC would cost. But, wait to see what some of the other members have to say.
