I have a Compaq Presario CQ5320F desktop. My OS is Windows 7 Home premium. The BIOS is American Megaterends 5.11 10/06/2009. The motherboard specifications is: M2N68-LA (Narra6) and the manufacturer is Pegatron Corp. I bought the computer new this past January. A few day ago I had to replace the battery on the mother board since the system was not keeping the correct time on the clock. I removed the old battery and replaced the new one. I then went into the BIOS and set it for the defaults.
Everything runs OK, but it won't wake up from sleep. If I put it into sleep mode, the only way I can restart is to press the power button and shut it down. I can then restart it. I found out that some times it is necessary to clear the CMOS after installing a new battery. I did this by moving a little jumper to another position and the re-positioning it. I did that but my system still won't wake up from sleep. Any thoughts as to what might work?

Did sleep work before the battery was changed?

Yes, it always worked fine. Do you think that I could have picked up a bad battery? Or possible something that changed in the BIOS? The battery was ony a little over $2.00 so if it could be the battery, I'll just go to Staples and get another one.

It's probably a BIOS setting...

when you take the battery out, then your BIOS resets to default.....same as moving the jumper pins over for reset...............probally in your BIOS that has the Power Menu in it, needs to be reconfigured to sleep mode..............time to get the manual out...........

Tomorrow, I'm going to see if I can download the manual and take a look at that.

1. "It's probably a BIOS setting..."
With the BIOS & Windows configurations for sending the PC to sleep...

Make sure the BIOS settings [timings] don't send the PC to sleep earlier than the Windows settings.
