I have formatted my hard drive on a newly built system clone. Started the loadup of Win98 and passed most stages without error. At the " 14 Minutes to go" of locating software during the setup I get a " Corrupt Cab file " Error.
I Then reformat my hard drive and try a new instalation with My win95 disk and come up with the same fault, clearly indicating no fault with my disks. Help

Welcome! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif Here are a couple of ideas to get you started...
First, be sure the install CDs are clean and unscratched. Dirty, scratched CDs are hard for your CDROM to read from.
Next, since you've formatted your hard drive and it's empty, try booting from the Win98 startup floppy and from the A:\> prompt run a thorough Scandisk in case there are bad sectors on the drive.
A:\>scandisk c:_/autofix_/nosummary_/surface [Enter] [The underscores ( _ ) mean to leave one space. Don't type them in the command].
If you can't run Scandisk as above, change to the Ramdrive directory after booting with the Win98 startup disk (usually drive D: on a one hard drive system).
