To All
The bios does not load. The screen is blank. The PC beeps non-stop.
This PC has been running for 3 years without a problem except for a power supply that had to be replaced because the fan stop working and it became extremely hot. Hot enough to shutdown the PC. The motherboard has the ability to shutdown if such an event occurs.

sympton before crash:
The mouse moved erraticly across the screen. It has been doing this for months. The only way to fix it was to reboot.

Received the message "system resources dangerously low". The PC has never rebooted since.
Swapped out motherboard and PC booted. The only difference between the mobo's was the video card, ram and cpu. The ram is okay, I will swap out the video card today.

What is the most likely cause of this problem? Bios?, Mobo?, Video Card calling it quits?

components:
mobo abit be6
ram 128mb
hd ibm 66 18gig
toshiba dvd
internal zip
diamond 770 32mb agp
diamond 128 pci soundcard
us robotics modem

Thanks for any and all help!
T.

Continuous beeps? I'd say motherboard. Power supply is possible. Bad CPU also.

8 beeps: memory or video card not seated.
9 beeps: Bad CMOS chip. Replace motherboard, you're not likely to find another CMOS chip.

Non-stop: Go shopping!

Thanks for the response. I switched motherboards connecting all of the devices to the replacement motherboard and the PC jumped to life. The motherboard is dead!
