VGN-Z590, rather uncommon laptop and my mom broke the power button, so it doesn't turn on. I can't seem to find replacement parts ANYWHERE... any ideas?

Found a complete panel with switch here (http://www.laptopteks.com/Sony/Laptop/Sony-Vaio-VGN-Z-Series-Z590/Power-Button-Panel.asp) after Googling
"Sony VAIO VGN-Z590 power switch"
but it's over $70.00!

a) solder a new jury rigged one yourself,
b) use a screwdriver to turn it on,
c) give your mom a "special key (http://37days.typepad.com/37days/images/thimble.jpg)" to wear on her finger that will turn it on
c) call it a security feature!
d) spend the money and do it properly
e) just leave it on all the time

Well, the switch itself is the problem. I could try to resoldier it, but it's still very finicky to turn on. Also, she lost the plastic ring cover around the power button as seen in this image.

She says she's better off buying a new computer, she hates this one anyways. 9_9
