Whenever I turn on the computer, this is displayed "error loading w3knet.dl cannot find the file specifies". The comp also occasionally locks up, where even ctrl+alt+del can't even shut the system down. Is this a ram problem? Can anyone help or tell me where I can find information on what w3knet.dl is?

Found a reference to w3knet.dll at Computing.Net (http://computing.net/windows95/wwwboard/forum/477.html) (about 3/4 of the way down the page).
If your computer continues booting normally after you receive the w3knet.dll error, it's probably a leftover from a program you deleted that is still being called for in the registry, win.ini, or system.ini files. The first thing I'd do is go to Start, Run, and type in sysedit [OK]. Check the win.ini and system.ini files for any lines that start with "load=" or "run=" and have w3knet.dll in them. Put a semicolon ( ; ) at the beginning of any line like that you find, then save and exit the files. If you found references to w3knet.dll in the above files, restart your computer now to see if the error message is gone.
If the error message is still occuring and you feel the file is indeed ad-related, as stated in the above link, you will need to search the registry for "w3knet.dll" to see if it's there. If so, you'll have to delete it, but be very careful if you edit the registry, and it's a good idea to backup the registry before you start! I don't recommend that you edit the registry unless you have previous experience and feel comfortable doing so.
Hope this helps... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks mom, I been trying to get rid of this problem for a couple of months now. I haven't tried the repair yet, but it sounds good and very logical. At least I know where to go now to solve my problems. Thanks again
