Asksah, several things come to mind here...first do not use the affected pc to research the fix if possible. That said...If you have the latest virus definitions and have kept your rescue disks up to date (you did make rescue disks, right?) refer to the manual, but in case you don't have it handy I'll try to summarize the instructions for using the rescue disks to start your pc with a clean master boot record on a floppy and not the infected hard drive...
1. Be sure that you have updated your rescue disks since making any adjustments to your pc like adding/removing hardware or upgrading your operating system. If not there could be irrepairable damage to our system by using any rescue facility other than the Antivirus portion.
2. Shut down your pc and insert the write-protected rescue boot disk into the a: drive. Make sure you have slid the tab on the floppy so that the virus cannot overwrite the disk.
3. Wait a few seconds then turn on the pc.
4. Follow the on screen instructions. (if your disks are not up to date you can still use them to remove the virus from your pc by choosing only to use the Norton Antivirus task.)
5. You will be prompted when to insert other rescue disk(s). Virus emergencies are handled by the first two tasks in Norton Rescue: Rescue Recovery and Norton Antivirus. You should not need the other tasks for virus emergencies.
The above (1-5) taken from the Norton SystemWorks manual.
I hope this helps http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
If you are not able to persue this route you should use another pc to access the Symantec (Norton) website www.symantec.com (http://www.symantec.com) and find help there.
A piece of advice for the future is to go into the Antivirus program and configure the settings to scan the boot records upon boot up. Just in case this has been altered somehow. If the above is no help then someone else will have to offer suggestions for a cure http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Norton (http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/eek.b.html) has a short write up with instructions for removal on their website.

If you had everything...Where would you put it?
