This is the default setting for Windows 7, i.e. it will restart automatically once it hits a critical error. To determine where the error is occurring, you need to turn off the automatic restart. This, in itself, will produce a Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) next time this error occurs.
Click on Start, Control Panel, and then click on System & Security. Click on System. On the left-hand side of this window you'll see an option for Advanced system settings; click on it. Click on the settings button for Startup and Recovery. Remove the check mark against Automatically restart and click OK (see below).

Just so you know: This will NOT stop the error from occurring. What it will do, however, is produce a BSoD when the error occurs, and you can glean information from there as to what's causing it. If you look at the sample one below, you'll see the pertinent information required will be the error message at the top of the screen (in this instance, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_EQUAL), the STOP error, and also any files mentioned near the bottom of the screen (in this instance, gv3.sys). Once you gather that information, post back here and we can delve further into trouble-shooting.
