Hi all PC computer guru,

I have been using this computer for the past 2 years without any problem, but last week, the system refuses to boot. Even though I have tried to boot it thru' A:, the system refuses to boot.

The hint that I had from the computer is that the monitor says "no signal" and the system sounds "one" beep and remain silent. So, computer guru, please tell me what's wrong with my computer? and what remedy I should take to bring my computer back to life?

Well, the tower beeps once and then sits there??? It could be a variety of things, One of which is the cpu died, um, power supply not working properly, something came loose in there, etc. THe no signal on your monitor means it doesn't see a video card on the other end of the wire. Either the wire is loose, or your video card is not working, at all.

First, I would completely unplug the computer, and plug it back in, and try again. Unplug the monitor and plug it back in.

Is this a brand name computer, or did you build it yourself??? is it under warranty? I mean, if it is under warranty, I would contact computer manufacturer, cause most of the things beyond what i mentioned above, will void the warranty. I wouldn't want to do that.

Need more info please.
Probably a monitor problem. Is card seated properly. Are correct drivers installed..
Could you temporarily hook up another monitor to determine if the prob is the monitor or the card
Lastly what type of bios do you have? The beep code given is one short beep as I ubderstand. pls advise
