Could someone help. I keep getting the blue screen "A fatal exception at
0028:C2A64520 in vxd en4060c(01) + 0001DDA0. The current application will be terminated." What is it and what exactly do I have to do to get rid of it?
(p.s.I'm using Windows 98, AMD 500mHz if this helps)

Two quick questions: When did you start getting the 'blue screen of death'? Does this happen when you are in one particular application, or does it just pop up randomly? If it is random, run the scandisk for you C drive (start menu\programs\accessories\system tools\scandisk) and see if it catches any errors on the disk. If so, elect to repair them. Once the test is complete, run scandisk again to make sure that all of the errors are corrected, then reboot your system.
If this happens when you are in one particular application, then that is even simpler. The application itself may be corrupt. Uninstall it, then reinstall it, if you need the application (otherwise, you may need to disgard it all together). Again, like previously stated, run the scandisk program to make sure that it did not leave any corrupt clusters behind.
If you continue to receive the blue screen after this, then go to the DOS PROMPT (start menu\programs\MSDOS PROMPT) and type in SCANREG to see if the registry is corrupt. I can't quite remember the exact command for fixing the registry errors, but someone on this forum does. Anyway, if this does not work, then back up all needed files and reinstall your O/S. Let me know how it goes......... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

scanreg_/fix will repair the registry, scanreg_/restore will replace it with a previous copy. Use a space in place of the underscore ( _ ) used here.
What Are Fatal Exception Errors (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q150/3/14.asp?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0) might help.
A Fatal Exception has Occurred (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q189/6/55.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0) might not refer top your specific problem, but might have some useful info.
