Hi,

I recently purchased a new computer for myself and it was working fine at first, but a couple of days ago I booted my Windows and the CD drive was gone from "My Computer". When I looked at the device manager, there was no CD-Rom drive entry there. I have tried to re-install the CD drive via the "Add New Hardware" wizard and succeeded only in adding the driver to the device manager. The drive itself is still not there. Can anybody help me please? Thanks!

If it's new, and still under warranty, take it back to the store you bought it from.

If it's not under warranty, let us know what version of windows, 95 or 98. That would be helpful.
