If you are using Win98 SE (with the updated Backup.exe ) you should be able to CHANGE & direct the backup to any device that Windows recognizes in "My Computer". If you are using Win 95 or Win98 1st edition....get another backup program!

That explains it...I have 98 first edition, and can only use tape, file or possibly floppy, haven't tried for floppy...didn't know they had updated it in win98 SE...

OK......here's what I would do. Delete the backup program on your Win 98 1st edition in Control Panel.......then re-install it using a Win98 SE upgrade or OEM CD ! It should work fine!! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I don't need the CD option, don't have a CD writer, but it's good to know win98SE has an updated version, for future reference. The current backup program works great for my current tape drive setup.
