Hi, i have a problem with a 486 Hard Disk. I have installed a Hard Disk Seagate 1.2 Gb on a 486. BIOS Recognice it and i can make partitions and format it. But when I install the operative System and when i work with it during a time (1 hour or less) the hard disk lost a lot of clusters, some time that clusters are from the operating system.

I try to install Windos 95, Windows 95 osr2, windows 98. Every time is the same problem

Someone know what hapen and what is the solutión

Sorry for my English,

If you mean scandisk is reporting lost clusters, try running scandisk a few times and see if it finds more lost clusters every time. If it does, the hard drive is going bad, it won't last much longer.
