I'm trying to add an IDE drive (WD Caviar 21200) to my PC.
The problem is that I cannot boot from my SCSI drive anymore, as soon as the IDE drive is configured. I setup SCSI first in the BIOS but it does not help.
I have: Asus P2B-S 440BX M/B, BIOS ver. 1012, Adaptec 2940U2W, Windows 98. The new IDE HD is Primary Master.
Thanks for your help!

That's the main problem with mixing IDE and SCSI, BIOS always looks for an IDE drive first, and tries to boot from it. I don't know of a workaround, except to use one or the other.

What about installing a boot manager on the IDE drive ?
This way I could launch windows on the SCSI drive.
Would anyone recommend a boot manager ?

Just a thought, but what happens if you jumper the IDE as primary slave?

I finally solved my problem by removing the "master" jumper from the HD.
Thanks for your time.
