Here's another one,
I think i read something about this item somewhere in the forum but i'm not sure anymore.
Is it a good idea to fdisk a Seagate 20gig HD 7200rpm (ST320420A)
Someone stated in this forum that doing a fdisk on the newer HD's would damage the disk.
I ran Norton Disk Doctor on my HD today and suddenly i lost one of my partitions. I tried to undo this with the undo-disk it made, but no succes. As far as i know the only way to get the original disk size back is through an fdisk.
Please help

Oops..sorry should have posted this in the hardware section.

I moved it here, figured this would be a good place.

I don't know of any reason fdisk should be harmful to newer drives, unless there's some new problem I haven't heard about. Maybe some of the other folks here have heard this and can offer some info.

Thanks Pete,
I visited seagates site and got confirmation that is was ok to Fdisk my HD. Already did it and everything is working fine now. I think i confused Fdisk with a Low Level format. Which should not be done on the newer discs.
Thanx for your input.
