I recently installed a 40 gig Maxtor harddrive on my P111-450mhz machine, I have a 6.4gig drive that has 4 partitions and contains the operating system. When I installed the 40 gig I had to use MAXBLAST to allow my computer to see the large drive. Maxblast partitioned the big drive into 2 20 gig drives....cool...

My problem now is I wanted to format my C drive and reinstall my operating system, (many crashes due to much crap in OS). The Maxblast software installed EZ-BIOS on my system to deal with the large drive and now when I boot with a floppy it installs my CD driver and gives me access to my A drive but when I try to go to the other HDrives they will not show, GOT ME STUMPED........ Any suggestions?

TIA

Witn EZ BIOS you have to boot to a floppy by a different method. Look for the EZ BIOS screen, you'll see a message below it telling you to press the spacebar (usually) to boot from a floppy. Do that, then insert the boot floppy and try it. Should work better.

That lets EZ BIOS load, then it can see the other drives.

I did overcome the problem but it was tricky.

With ez-bios shadowing the original bios it locks you out of disk access when bootong from a floppy, it also takes away any cd rom's you have in your system stopping the ability to reinstall the OS.

However, If you partition the drive (partition magic 4.0) you can go to the windows directory in C and copy the cabs directory to the partition,(c:windows/options/cabs) then after verifying that all the files and set-up.exe files did move you can shut down to a DOS prompt ( you are then still working within the ez-bios setup). At the C prompt you can now format C (C:>format c: /u /s). When the format is done at the DOS prompt you can change to D and go to the CABS directory and type setup and reinstall you OS.

I had one added treat, The onboard virus proyection read ez-bios as a boot sector virus and would not allow me to reinstall windows until I disabled the virus protection in my bios.
