The computer is new, the printer a couple of years old. The printer works fine on my old computer. Bios is properly set with ECP+EPP. I am using a good bi-directional printer cable. I downloaded new drivers for WIN98, old is WIN95. Now my printer software (on the new computer) can't initialize the printer. I was wondering if there is a utility (free/share ware) that actually tests the parallel port. I have "System Doctor", and it reports the port with no conflicts, but doesn't actually test it.
If not, any other ideas?
