Fatal Exception errors in VxD files

Please help. Windows 98 is experiencing fatal exeption errors in VxD VFAT, VMM and other files while trying to run games, or just running IE 5. I am not sure what these files are or what exactly they are attached to. (Display???) Troubleshooting guide for windows doesn't help. Have all current drivers installed for video card, sound card, etc. with no conflicting devices. Let me know what other information you require for assistance. I really want to correct this error. Thanks for the help.
