If the game software does not support plug and play. What are the system settings that you need to change in order to run the game? How to make the changes? Thanks!

Depends on the game, and what exactly is going on. Need more detail please! Hardware? Software? Operating system?

Actually it is my assignment Q. It is just stated that the sound card is not able to work with the game software that does not support plug and play. So i assume that other than games all other software can support it. So they mentioned abt what are the likely system settings to change. And how to change it? Please help!
