images

I need some help concerning images,I use E5 to browse the web when I get
to a site I use to see an image in block with advertisement etc ..Now I do not see this however images are showing at msn home page ..Did I loose a viewer of some sort?Text images are still there ...os win98 se .p111..128ram...any help will be appreciated ..This site is great thanks .

OK, what did I do now???

Try looking into your Internet Options, in the Tools menu. Look for a setting that says "Show Images". Put a check in the box. If that doesn't work, run the repair tool from Add/Remove programs in Control Panel.

Don't know what the "Show Image Placeholders" setting does, won't hurt to play with it, if it causes aliens to pop up in notepad you can always change it back easily.

Pete, Just a quick FYI. The placeholder setting allows the page to line up properly even before the images are downloaded.

Following from MS:
Specifies whether placeholders should be drawn for graphical images while they are downloading. This allows items in the page to be positioned where they would appear when the images are fully downloaded.
This option is ignored if the Show Pictures option is cleared.

Thanks Mark, never tinkered with that one, had no reason to, and haven't had any trouble, so why fix it??
