I got a used 17" PS/ValuePoint monitor but the ID label was scratched off and I don't know the model no or serial no. Are the any programs that could tell me the model No. or serial no?

If you are currently using the monitor you could go to the device manager and check the properties of the monitor for some info. Or you can right click on the screen and choose properties/settings/advanced sometimes this will give details of model number and such. One other option is to go to www.belarc.com (http://www.belarc.com) and download the free advisor that will ID most of the system components I think there is another software called Sandra(?) Sysoft(?) that will do this too. If you are not using the monitor you could look for any other numbers elsewhere on the exterior and try to find the manufacturer's web site. Under no circumstances should you remove that cover...monitors retain lethal charge even after being shutdown for several hours (and maybe more).
