why does my screen scroll in jerky movements instead of smoothly

Probably lack of memory.

Also look in Internet Options, the Advanced tab, and look for a line that says Enable Smooth Scrolling Make sure you have a check in the box beside it, that might help. If your system is low in the memory department it will probably still jerk now and then, but not as bad.
