Cannot start windows ....My PC starts up without any problem. After the message Starting Windows 95, the splash screen appears for 2-3 seconds.

The next message states the HIMEM.SYS is missing. It then states, "Type the name of the command interperter eg.C"\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM". tHE PROMPT SHOWS C>.

How do I fix this?

Thanks, Jo

Well, this is just a guess...
Check your autoexec.bat file (where your PATH variable is set). It sounds as if C:\Windows (or whatever your Windows directory is) isn't in your path. You can also check your path by typing PATH at the DOS prompt.
