Flickering Monitor

Hi All, My computer monitor flickers out of control after using for two to three hours at a time until I turn it off for some time I presently own a Sony Vaio PCV100 that I purchased about four years ago with an extended warranty, this will be the third time I will swap the monitor out, seems to be once a year.....Sony people seem not to have a clue of what could be the cause....has anyone heard of this problem before? Any help would be much appreciated

If your monitor is in a strain all the time it is a resolution setting that it can't handle.
The next time it starts turn off you box,open it, and feel your graphics card,or chip. If it is abnormally hot try a cooling fan or upgrade your graphics card.
Some monitors get so hot they crack the soldier off the power supply.It is very dangerous to open a monitor.
Have someone nearby certified in CPR when opening a monitor.
