I have a similar problem. I have had my question posted for days now and No reply. I have had linux and windows installed on this box before. I picked up a copy of 7.1 and I can't get past boot up. My viewing area shrinks down to a 3 inch square and it looks like it is trying to run
16000 x 12000 resolution. I can't read it. I installed windows ME on the same box and it also set a higher resolution than my monitor can handle. I was able to fix that one. But as far as 7.1 is concerned it looks like I will not be able to install it on that box. I guess it is back to 6.5. Let me know if you find anything on this subject we are probably not alone.

Sorry guys, rUzz, I saw your post, but I'm clueless about Linux...thought I'd at least let you know I'm not ignoring you...

I knew it was coming, I am going to have to buy a better monitor. They don't last forever. I knew I was taking a long shot with that post.
